The flowers
Mespilus germanica is one of the espaliers with the most beautiful flowers. The entire tree is covered with delicate white flowers that remain on the tree for some time. Flowering starts at the end of April. Due to its late flowering and strong character, it rarely suffers from spring frost. The tree is related to the Rosaceae. The flowers are large for a fruit tree and stand out well. Bees, butterflies and moths are regular visitors.
The fruit
The fruit is best picked and eaten after the first night frost. Do not eat them if they are rotten, as is sometimes incorrectly claimed.
